The World is in your Hand. Newest Suunto Wristop Computer X10 Military

New Suunto X10 features improved tracking, faster performance and longer battery life

Suunto, the world leader in sports instruments, is proud to introduce the new Suunto X10, the enhanced version of its flagship outdoor instrument, the Suunto X9i. The Suunto X10 includes all the features of the popular X9i, one of the smallest and lightest wrist-mounted GPS devices, but with performance upgrades to make it faster, more powerful and more dependable than ever before.

The Suunto X10 has upgraded GPS performance, which locates your position even faster than the X9i. The improved GPS also tracks better in difficult conditions, such as heavy foliage, for more reliable readings when you need it most. Unlike bulkier, hand-held GPS units, the Suunto X10 is hands-free, so you can focus on the action instead of worrying about dropping or losing your GPS when the going gets tough. The Suunto X10 also records waypoints and routes, allowing users to analyze and catalog trips on a home PC.

The Suunto X10 includes an altimeter, barometer, digital compass, thermometer, and an extensive memory, as well as the usual time/stopwatch functions. Combining all of these functions into a sleek, sporty wristop computer not only enhances safety, but also adds a whole new dimension to the outdoor experience.

The Suunto X10 is compatible with several digital mapping services across the world, including National Geographic TOPO!, Google Earth™ and Fugawi. With Suunto Track Exporter PC software, route planning and waypoint programming is fast, accurate and simple. Users can plan their routes on a digital map and download routes directly onto the Suunto X10 or print out their own customized maps. The Suunto Track Exporter PC software also allows users to export “tracks” from their GPS units to Google Earth™, where they can view their adventures anywhere on the globe with real satellite imagery.

“After converting your Suunto X10 logs with Suunto Track Exporter, you can share your adventures with anyone who uses Google Earth,” explains Suunto Outdoor Product Manager Petteri Hernelahti. “You can save your tracks in Google Earth, and then email them to friends or family, or post them on a website or blog for downloading.”

Included with the Suunto X10 and also available for free download at suunto.com, Suunto Track Exporter PC software works with the free version of Google Earth™, so there’s nothing extra to buy.

When navigating on a pre-planned route, the Suunto X10 shows the direction and remaining distance to the next waypoint and calculates the estimated time of arrival. When you’re on the move, the Suunto X10 shows the current speed and distance traveled using GPS functions. The 'Find home' setting guides the way back to the start point or marked 'Home' position, while the 'Track back' function guides the user back along any recorded route.

Available in two colors, the new Suunto X10 is also more dependable, with a battery that lasts 33 % longer than the X9i. The X10 comes with its own USB charger that doubles as a data link, so users can charge up through any PC. Plus, the Suunto X10 is compatible with most commercially available USB chargers and adapters, which makes powering up on the go easier than ever.
